Ownership
Who owns the work, decisions and outcome?
People Infrastructure Diagnostic
When a consequential People operating problem persists and the right solution is not clear, Evergreen follows the problem across the operating environment to understand what is actually happening.
You do not need to diagnose the answer before engaging us. Start with the operating problem and the decision your organization needs to make.
When it fits
The People Infrastructure Diagnostic is designed for an operating issue consequential enough to resolve—and uncertain enough that acting on the obvious answer could waste time or deepen the problem.
Something keeps breaking or escalating.
No one owns the whole problem.
The process works until an exception occurs.
A technology change did not resolve the issue.
Growth exposed an operating weakness.
Leadership keeps getting pulled into routine problems.
Bring the problem—not a preselected solution. Evergreen begins with what is happening and the decision leadership needs to make.
What the Diagnostic does
Evergreen defines the operating problem worth understanding, identifies the relevant parts of the environment and gathers the evidence needed to test what may be driving it.
The work distinguishes what is supported from what is assumed, connects the issue to business consequences and clarifies what requires action, ownership or a leadership decision.
Follow the problem
These are analytical lenses—not scores, stages or seven required workstreams.
Who owns the work, decisions and outcome?
How does work move through routine and exception paths?
Where do systems enable, constrain or complicate the work?
What do people rely on, and is it dependable enough to support decisions?
How are decisions made, escalated and resolved?
Can the organization perform the work reliably?
Can the resulting change be adopted, operated and sustained?
Evidence before assumption
What appears to be happening, what people believe is happening and what the available evidence supports are not always the same.
Evergreen uses the evidence relevant to the question—such as stakeholder perspectives, workflows, system information, operating records, decision rights, exceptions, escalations, documentation or available metrics.
The goal is not false certainty. Contradictions, evidence limits and what remains uncertain stay visible.
Technology is not working.
Possible operating driverOwnership or process design.
Payroll keeps failing.
Possible operating driverUpstream information or handoffs.
Change is not sticking.
Possible operating driverReadiness or operating accountability.
Roles, handoffs, information and systems under normal conditions.
Missing information, delayed approvals, unusual cases, system exceptions and leadership escalation often reveal the real weakness.
A disciplined engagement
Align the consequential operating issue, the decision it affects and the practical boundary for the work.
Trace routine work, exceptions and dependencies across the perspectives that matter.
Identify what the evidence supports, where accounts conflict and what remains unknown.
Connect findings to business consequences, priorities, ownership and a practical path forward.
What you leave with
The Diagnostic is designed to turn uncertainty into an actionable executive view while keeping evidence limits explicit.
Evidence-backed findings and supported explanations for the problem.
How the issue affects leadership time, reliability, rework, decisions, risk or execution.
Actions, accountable owners, dependencies and leadership decisions required.
An executive roadmap that makes uncertainty and further validation needs visible.
What it is not
The People Infrastructure Diagnostic is not a generic HR audit, maturity score, compliance certification, broad health check, employee survey, technology-selection exercise or AI-generated answer.
It also does not commit the client to a larger Evergreen implementation engagement.
What happens next
The client owns the business decision. The Diagnostic may point to several legitimate paths.
A practical first step
You don't need to diagnose the problem before reaching out. Start with what you're seeing today. Evergreen can help determine whether a conversation, a Diagnostic or another path makes sense.
This future Initial Assessment is preliminary. It will not validate underlying causes or replace the paid, evidence-based Diagnostic.
